Okay so for two days I have had this ingrown hair blister like thing. It is very painful when I walk so tonight I poked a couple holes in it and nothing came out. I don't know what it is but the lump I thought was pus and a hair was what seemed like just skin from what I can tell it is still bubbled up so I cleaned it with alcohol and put neosporin on it!! I don't know what to do HELP!! My job requires a lot of walking so it is very crucial I get it healing ASAP!! thanks

    2. What you need is warm wet compresses. Turn on your hot water faucet, let the water run until it is as hot as possible, then soak a washcloth in it. Wring out the washcloth until it’s just damp. Put it on the site. Let it stay there while you read or surf the net. Do this at least twice a day. You can also soak in a hot bath, or just in a sitz bath. Exfoliate the site afterwards, the hair might come out, or the boil might resolve. If you have a spouse or boyfriend/girlfriend, you might have that person look at your problem under a good light. I don’t know how many ingrown hairs I’ve pulled out of my husband’s body. He has rather curly hair, and tends to get a lot of ingrown hairs. Get some splinter tweezers for this, I think that Tweezerman tweezers are the best brand out there. They are quite expensive, but well worth it. Depending on where the site is, you might be able to get the hair out yourself, but having another person take a look is usually more reliable when it’s in your crotch area.If at all possible, try to wear panties that have a different profile while this thing resolves. For instance, there are high cut panties, thongs, and even women’s boxer brief panties. The boxer briefs have no elastic in the legs, and I like to wear them during the summer because they are not nearly as prone to chafing.Doctors can and will remove ingrown hairs, and lance and drain boils, but it’s usually not a good idea to go to the ER for such things. Some doctors have urgent care hours. My doctor is part of a clinic, for instance, and I can walk in from 7 to 8 AM and 5 to 6 PM on weekdays and from 8 AM to 5 PM on Saturdays, and get seen by a doctor or physician’s attendant, and get treated for minor stuff like this.So. Try the warm wet compresses first, with exfoliation, over the weekend. Get an SO or really, really good friend to look at this, if you have someone that you feel comfortable with. And if it doesn’t resolve over the weekend, get the doctor to look at it. The chances are very, very good that just the compresses will do the trick, though.
